I think the last lip product I swatched on the blog was a watery lip tint from Peripera. I've been cheating on 3CE with them lately..
Watery tints are lovely and I wear them a ton during the summer, but today I'm back with some lip products that are squarely on the other side of the spectrum. They are the Peripera Peri's Cushion Lips, and I have them in 3 colors: Bubble Love, Danger, and Mini Dress. These opaque, creamy liquid lipsticks are as far from watery lip tints as Siberia is to Florida.
But sometimes, you just want a loud, matte lip.
And Peripera delivers.
These are just 3 of the 8 shades available from the range.

These Peripera Peri's Cushion Lips are liquid lipsticks that come in a squeeze tube, with a sponge tip applicator. The packaging is super unique, and appeals to the inner Jo March in everyone. All you need now is an easel, and a model who's easy on the eyes to paint.
They're pretty typical liquid lipsticks in that they are highly pigmented and opaque. However, I kind of like to think of these as lip paints (or tars I guess) because they're a little bit thicker than most liquid lipsticks I've tried. They have no scent or flavor.
Peripera's known for their cushion applicators. It's kind of their thing. And it totally works when it comes to their blusher, giving a soft diffused look to the product. "Soft" and "diffused" doesn't quite work as well when it comes to a loud matte lip so the cushion is more hindrance than help in this case.
To apply, you just do a little *controlled* squeeze to get the product to dispense onto the cushion which you can use to apply on your lips. Careful as it can squirt out more than you need. To get a crisp, clean application, you may want to enlist the help of a lip brush to get definition on your cupid's bow and your edges. I actually much prefer a doe foot applicator.
It wears beautifully. Once it dries down, it stays put for 5-6 hours. It doesn't transfer too much while eating or drinking and it will leave a stain.
After a few hours, the product may wear off a bit unevenly with the center bits coming off first. Because the cushion lips are a bit thicker of a formula though, they reapply better than most liquid lipsticks and look even on the second (or third or whatever) round.
Let's get nitpicky...
If you love storing your lip products standing up in convenient little rows, the packaging may bother you. You'll want to keep the box they came in to make it easier to stand these up on your vanity.
Also, while these have the same amount of product as other matte liquid lipsticks (ex: NYX soft matte lip creams) at 8 ml, or rougly 0.27 oz... I could totally see these running out quicker than usual since the cream is thicker / more viscous.
Lips must be smooth, or these will make them look like hell. Bubble Love and Danger are not as bad as Mini Dress.
Lastly in case, you care about the ingredients.
Methyl Trimethicone, Diisostearyl Malate, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Silica, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Dimethicone, Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer, HDI/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Sorbitan Olivate, Red 6 Lake (CL 15850) C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Cholesteryl Isostearate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Sorbitan Isostearate, Ethyl Hexanediol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Red 7 lake (Cl 15850:1), Fragrance, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter
I'd guess that the shea butter is what is keeping these from being too matte or drying on the lips.
Let's see them in action.
Bubble love is a bright fuchsia.
Danger is an red-orange color. Perfect timing for me as I'd been looking to reverse dupe (find a better formula than) my Wet N Wild Purty Persimmon.
Mini Dress is an intense warm, pink coral.

Today I have Hourglass Mood Exposure and a copious dusting of Smashbox shimmery eyeshadow all over my face. Apparently there's now a word for this thing I've been doing where I dunk my face in highlighter? It's called strobing. So here's me strobing. If you look at the top picture vs the two bottom ones, you can see that the highlighter literally gives me cheekbones. I love you highlighter!
I never noticed that Mood Exposure can shift and look both bronze and pink-mauve toned. Cool beans.
Didn't like the shades featured here? Beautiful Buns has also swatched two lighter pinks, Bye Nineteen, and Play More on her blog.
